THE MASCARADE MASTERCLASS SERIES

with mezzo-soprano Marina Prudenskaya & Julia Lynch, Artistic Director of Mascarade Opera

Step behind the curtain with Mascarade Opera this May and discover the artistry of opera up close. Mascarade Opera presents The Mascarade Masterclass Series, a public masterclass with internationally-renowned mezzo-soprano Marina Prudenskaya and pianist and Artistic Director Julia Lynch.

Born in St Petersburg and trained at the city’s Conservatory, Marina Prudenskaya has been a permanent ensemble member of the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin since 2013 and regularly appears on the stages of the world’s most prestigious opera houses, including the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, the Bayreuth Festival, the Vienna State Opera, Teatro alla Scala, Teatro Real Madrid and the Salzburg Easter Festival. A winner of the ARD International Music Competition in Munich, she is particularly acclaimed for her interpretations of Wagner, Verdi and Strauss.

Step behind the curtain with Mascarade Opera and discover how opera is truly made. On stage, emerging artists from the Mascarade Opera Emerging Artists Programme perform live while Marina Prudenskaya and Julia Lynch guide them, shaping each phrase and bringing every moment to life. Audiences witness the rehearsal process as it unfolds, seeing the challenges, the discoveries, and the artistry that turn notes on a page into a fully realized performance.

The masterclass offers a rare opportunity to observe up close the artistic and technical work that shapes operatic performance, making it an unmissable experience for musicians, students, opera lovers, and anyone curious about the creative process at the highest level.
